Nokia N800 Internet Tablet
Thursday, May 10th, 2007The Nokia N800 internet tablet is the update to the N770 which didn’t make it to Australian shores and as yet there seems to be no word as to whether the N800 will either.
Video Review of the N800:
The N800 uses an open source Linux-based operating system so there will no doubt be loads of third party software written, see maemo for an array of open source software for internet tablets. The N800 isn’t a phone although calls can be made over WiFi via Skype or Google Talk VoIP calls.
Considering it isn’t a phone and not likely to be taken up by the telcos, thus no handset rebates, and the low availablity and quality of WiFi in Australia (compared to O/S) personally I’d be looking at phones like the Samsung Blackjack or Nokia N95 as being a better all round choice. Although it looks like it does what it says it does well.
